The City of Novi Snow and Ice Removal Team has completed initial clearing of all roadways and pathways.
As a result of the extremely cold temperatures, salt has been largely ineffective. With temperatures expected to rise to 15 degrees tomorrow, team members will salt all major roadways heavier than normal. It is our assessment much of the slippery hard pack on major roads can be melted away and plowed off by the Wednesday evening rush hour. The clearing of pathways continues with pushing back drifts and snowbanks.
Neighborhood roadways will be plowed again curb-to-curb once the hard pack snow begins to loosen up from rising temperatures predicted over the weekend. In the meantime, some areas will remain slick; please drive with caution.
If you have additional questions or concerns, please call the Department of Public Services at 248.735.5640. Normal office hours are 7:30am to 4pm, Monday-Friday.
